Malaysia states are connected by major highways that
interweave beyond dense forests and through soaring mountains. Karak Highway is
well known as a haunted highway because of its past experiences. It is a
hotspot for supernatural or paranormal circumstances. Karak Highway E8 is an
accident-prone zone. In the year 1990, a massive highway crash took place,
where a bus collided with a lorry, an FRU truck, six cars, and two taxis. 17
members died in that accident and it was a massive accident in that year. After
the incident a story came to lighten up: the Yellow Volkswagen Beetle, a
monstrous creature.
As the story goes, a driver passes through a tunnel, and
suddenly a Volkswagen appears in front of the car and overtakes it. But he
hasn't seen the driver in that car.
Another version of the story is if your car breaks down in the middle of
the night on the highway trust me you're in danger. An incident took place, a
husband and wife were driving on the highway, and their car broke down in the
middle. The husband went out to check the engine. As time passed, the wife fell
asleep and after a few minutes she heard sounds like thumping or banging and it
got louder and louder.
The policemen came to her and instructed her to get down and
walk with them slowly. She followed as she made her way towards the police car.
They advised her not to turn backside. But, she didn't listen to them and
turned back to find out the noise —a creature banging her husband's head on the
roof of her car. The beast flew out of the car and disappeared into the night.
Another tale is about a schoolboy wandering on the highway
road during midnight. Drivers would see the young boy in school uniform waving
towards them. The tragedy is that the schoolboy and his mother died on the
highway.
